What is light?

Trees appear green because their foliage absorbs the other wavebands and in red paint it is the pigment that absorbs green.

The beetle and the peacock feather have natural light interference devices built into their surfaces giving an iriridescent effect.

The wasp displays a natural signal - we use the same colours to warn of traffic hazards.

Whenever you look ask yourself how or why colour effects are caused.
