Turkey red dyeing:

Turkey red fabric and yarn was exported from Britain all over the world, especially to India and the Far East. Very beautiful fabrics were produced in a wide range of designs with vivid yellows; greens and blues on a red background.

Turkey red dyeing was a method of producing a bright red on cotton which was very fast to light, washing and bleaching. The process was used in this country from the mid-eighteenth century until the 1930s.
