"All the buildings in the Alexandria Works, or the Craft as it was at the bottom of Craft Street, were built of red sandstone and had all the different wee huaffs and wee places. It was next to the Leven because the factory used the water from the Leven and they reckoned that one of the reasons that they were so successful at printing and dyeing was the quality of the water."
