Most
countries have associations or groups that brainstorm colour trends for
the home market and export. In the United States there is the Color Association
and the Color Marketing Group; in Europe the Deutsche Mode Institut, the
Dutch Fashion Center, the Institute da Moda Espagnol. In the UK there
are two colour associations; one is the British Textile Group, made up
of the leading fashion colourists from fibre companies, fashion services,
retailers, and textile firms. They prepare the British colour palette
which is submitted to Intercolor. For colourists working on home furnishings
there is the Colour Group which meets periodically to set the years
colour card.

Additional sources of colour input are fibre companies that employ colour and fashion specialists.
