Investigating colour vision

The test has been developed from the D15 test, which was devised in 1943 by Dean Farnsworth, to assist a transformer company in selecting electricians. The colours used in the City University test and the D15 test are the same.

The City University colour vision test

The City University colour vision test is a two part test. The first part of the test screens for normal or defective colour vision. The second part of the test is designed to give information on the severity of a person's defective colour vision. The test will distinguish between red and green deficiencies and unlike the other commonly used tests is able to identify blue deficiencies.
